Restaurant chains like Denny’s, Applebee’s and Jack in the Box offer 10-20% discounts for seniors, which is great so that older individuals can get better prices when they eat out. IHOP has a different offer for seniors, which is a special discounted menu called 55+ menu.

What is the IHOP 55+ Menu?
Diners who are 55 and above can order from the IHOP 55+ menu features discounted all-day IHOP favorites. The selections are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These are the options you can choose from:
55+ Breakfast Sampler
One egg* your way, 1 bacon strip, 1 pork sausage link, 1 thick-cut piece of ham, hash browns & 1 buttermilk pancake.
55+ 2 x 2 x 2
Two buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs* your way & 2 bacon strips or 2 pork sausage links.
55+ Rise ‘N Shine
Two eggs* your way, hash browns, 2 bacon strips or 2 pork sausage links & toast.
55+ Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast
1 slice of Classic Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast & 2 bacon strips or 2 pork sausage links.
55+ Pot Roast
Tender slow-braised beef in a rich beef gravy.
55+ Fresh Berry Salad
Choice of grilled or crispy chicken, fresh strawberries & blueberries, red onions & avocado on a bed of lettuce.
55+ BLT
Hickory-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato & mayo on toasted white bread.
55+ Crispy Shrimp
5 crispy battered shrimp served with French fries, cocktail sauce & a lemon wedge.
55+ Crispy Fish
2 crispy battered fish served with French fries, tartar sauce & a lemon wedge.
Price Comparison for IHOP Specials for Seniors vs. Regular Menu
The IHOP Specials for Seniors are discounted compared to the regular menu prices. The 55+ Breakfast Sampler for example, costs $9.51 while the regular Breakfast Sampler is $14.82. The 55+ 2 x 2 x 2 is priced at $9.06 while the regular 2 x 2 x 2 costs $11.17. Meanwhile the 55+ Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast costs $9.84 while on the regular menu this same item is $12.56.
So as you can see, the 55+ Menu items are a few dollars cheaper (between $4 to 6) compared to the regular menu items.
Are the portions smaller in the IHOP Specials for Seniors menu?
I’ve not tried ordering from the 55+ menu. However, I have seen these plates on occasion and I can confirm that some (not all) have smaller portions. For example, the Breakfast Sampler has 2 smoked bacon strips, 2 sausage links, 2 slices of ham, hash browns & 2 pancakes. However, the 55+ Breakfast Sampler only has 1 smoked bacon strip, 1 sausage, 1 slice of ham, hash browns & 1 pancake. On the other hand, the portion size/quantity for both the 55+ 2 x 2 x 2 and the regular 2 x 2 x 2 are the same.
Senior Specials at IHOP
Aside from the discounted 55+ Menu, some IHOP locations may have promos and deals for seniors. Many IHOP restaurants are owned by franchisees though so be sure to check with your local outlet to confirm.
Buy One Get One Free
This special offer is available between 3pm to 6pm to individuals who are at least 55 years old. Moreover, some locations may only offer this once a week.
Senior Appreciation Night
Every Tuesday of the week between 3pm to 7pm, individuals who are 55 or older gets a meal at 50% off.
Free Entree
Seniors 55 and up can get a free entree with a purchase of 1 entree and 2 beverages. This offer is available on a certain day (usually Wednesday) and at select IHOP restaurants only. IHOP also offer special price for kids meal.
